A Princess Worries

Once upon a time in the Land of Hyster, Princess Sally was silently fretting and worrying. The tailors had checked the stitching and proclaimed it perfect in every way. The king had checked her from top to bottom and proclaimed her fit to return to all her normal activities. Her tummy was feeling almost normal. Each day she got up to face the world and she realized she had more and more energy. She was feeling so much better! But, still she worried.

Princess Sally knew she could now go back to the housework. She vacuumed the house and rested a bit. She mopped the kitchen floor and rested again. She puttered around in her garden, pulling weeds for a while, planting new seedlings.

Princess Sally knew should could return to shopping at the mall and searching for antiques at the flea markets. She knew she could continue with her plans to wallpaper the bathroom. She knew she could head back to her volunteering at the library.

Each and every day, Sally knew she was getting better and feeling better. But deep down inside her heart, she worried. She had noticed her husband's affections and worried she just wasn't ready for resuming the romance in her life.

Sitting down one afternoon with her Hyster Sisters, the girls all noticed Sally's unusual quietness. They could tell she had something on her mind. And because the hyster sisters don't mind prying, they peppered her with questions.

"Sally?" they asked. "Is everything all right? We know you saw the tailors this week. How is the stitching? Did the king check out the handiwork? Did he release you to head back to your life? Did he say you were okay? Are you feeling okay? Are you hurting?" The hyster sisters sent questions flying her way as she hung her head, lowered her eyes and blushed from her toes to her scalp.

"Well, yes....The king saw me," Sally began, " and so did the tailors. They say I'm fine. I know they say that, and I AM feeling better but...." and Sally's face was the color of a tomato as her eyes lowered once again in embarassment.

"Ahhhhh!" the hyster sisters all answered in unison with a silly grin on their faces. "Here's what you do...." and the sisters whispered in her ears some simple suggestions and encouraged her that all would be fine.

When Sally headed back to her house she began to make plans. Candlelight. A nice dinner. Kids to bed early. A bubble bath. Beautiful music. And all afternoon and evening, Sally hummed a happy tune as she worked.

Sally's husband came home and saw the dinner with the candles. He heard the lovely music and grinned a 'possum grin from ear to ear. He took her in his arms, kissed her lightly as he danced her around the living room in a waltz. He teased her playfully and held her tightly. And with that, Princess Sally knew things would be wonderful once again.

And the laughter and giggles could be heard through the walls of that home for a very long time. (And she lived happily ever after and was hormonally balanced forever.)

The End.
