Once upon a time in the Land of Hyster there was a newly punctured princess by the name of Cheryl. Her time at the king's castle went well. Her newly punctured tummy was well taken care of by the tailors with their fine, fancy stitching. She was taught how to roll out of bed by the handmaidens. She learned to walk up and down the halls. She finally traded in her backless gown for a gown that covered the rest of her and Princess Cheryl headed home.
She was grateful to be home. The sun was shining. The birds were singing. The flowers were blooming in their pots on the front porch. The world appeared beautiful and everything seemed so right. And then one night, Princess Cheryl looked down at the tailor's stitching and began to cry at the sight of their stitches.
She cried while she watched TV (not just at the long distance commercials but at the hamburger commercials, and the car commercials!) She poured buckets of tears as she watched the neighbors dog run down the street. Tears streamed down her cheeks when her friend brought a casserole over for dinner. When she ran out of milk one morning, the crocodile tears began again.
Princess Cheryl began carrying boxes of tissues around with her everywhere she went. Since she couldn't stop the faucet of tears, she attempted to wipe them away as fast as she could. Finally, Princess Cheryl couldn't take the tears anymore.
She grabbed up the box of tissue and headed to her nearest hyster sister's house which happened to be next door.
Knocking on the door and wetting the doormat with her tears, she was grateful when the door was opened by a smiling face. The hyster sister invited her in, sat her down in the softest chair, tucked her in with extra pillows and poured her a cup of raspberry tea.
"Now catch your breath," the neighbor said to Princess Cheryl. "Tell me all about it."
Princess Cheryl poured out her words in sputters while the tears matched the cadence of her heart. She told her all about her belly's stitches. She told her all about the milk. The dog. The commercials. The dinner. She gulped and gasped as she poured out her concerns to her hyster sister.
"I know exactly how you feel," the hyster sister replied tenderly. "Your body has been through so much this past week. You've had quite a shock. Hormones can be out of whack. The sleeping potions can mess up your body. You are so tired and weary. I don't think we realize what our bodies go through when we go to the castle for the tailor's stitches. Emotions can be a rollercoaster after any surgery and this surgery took more than the normal out of you. I think you should just rest more and be sure and let the king know if you aren't feeling better soon. In the meantime, let me walk you home, tuck you in bed with your pillows and I will get you a large icey glass of juice."
And with a hug or two, the hyster sister walked Princess Cheryl the few steps to her home and put her to bed.
Later that week, the neighbor hyster sister headed to Princess Cheryl's house to check on her. She knocked lightly at the front door and was thrilled to see a smiling face when the door opened. Laughter and hugs were the greetings that day along with a raspberry tea party complete with china tea cups and cinnamon rolls.
And they all lived happilly ever after and were hormonally balanced forever.
