Hello. Welcome to the Hyster Sisters.
My name is Kim and I currently live in Southeast Texas. I was born and raised in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. I am married to a loving husband and have 3 cats, no children. I enjoy puzzles, school, spending time in our pool when the weather permits and watching football when the weather doesn't. The Green Bay Packers are my favorite team. I also love old movies, Gone With the Wind is my favorite. I have a small collection of movie memorabilia and lots of Packers stuff.
I had my tah/bso in May of 99, 4 days after my 36th birthday. The hyst was my 5th surgery in 5 years for female problems. Excessive bleeding, pain, cysts, and prolapse of the uterus. I have not for one moment regretted my decision. I had no life for 5 years and it felt good to live again.
I found this site in June of 99, 1 month post-op. I've been addicted ever since. I am a hyster sister hear me roar! I have a lifetime membership. I truly treasure the knowledge and friendships I have gained. I have shared my triumphs, my tragedies and my comedies. By serving as hostess I hope that I can give back at least a little of what this site has given to me.
I'm a hostess and safari guide in the hormone jungle. Since my tah/bso in May of '99 I've tried numerous methods of NHRT and I finally found the clearing in the jungle. It has been a time of challenges, learning, change and adjustments. But in the end it was well worth the journey. I hope that by sharing my experiences thru the jungle that I can help make someone else's journey a bit easier, or at least let them know that they are not alone and that we are here shining our flashlights and that there is hope in the land of the hormonally balanced.
Unfortunately I also landed on The Road Less Travelled. This forum is for ladies who have ongoing pain issues and other problems after their hysts. I can't say that my problems are due to the hyst and I still do not for one moment regret the hyst, however the hyst did not fix all my pain issues and I have developed and exaberated a few other issues along the way. If anyone is still experiencing problems please come and visit us, it has helped me to know that I am not alone and hopefully it will help you too. Hugs, unconditional support and sharing our experiences are what the Road is about.
So, again welcome. Feel free to browse, read and learn. There is so much information and help for you here. You will find a lot of information on hormones at www.hormonejungle.com Be sure and read all the articles.
If you wish to contact me you may send me an email or PM thru the site
Hugs :-)
