Hello to all my Hystersisters and friends. I am Angie Jones. This picture is a little over a year old, but was all I could find. I look about he same except my hair is longer now. My aim is anjsmiles if any of you want to add me to your list. I use this because the first 3 letters are my initials and I am always smiling. I have been described more than once as a "happy" person.
I am 36 years old, have been married 13 years this May and have 2 beautiful girls ages 7 & 9. We also have 2 dogs, a cat, and a fish tank. My husband is a part-time Children's Pastor and full-time Administrative Director at Ga State University. I substitute teach. I am a Certified Medical Assistant by profession but have not worked in the medical field for about 10 years now.
I found this site this past summer as I was searching for some info to help me decide about my surgery. I had a TAH with the exception of one ovary. I thought after a couple months when I quit frequenting the board that I would not be back. Well, as sometimes does, my ovary is now failing me and I am in post-surgical menopause. Boy such fun!
My history is one of Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome leading to a very difficult time getting pregnant, chronic dysmenorrhea and irregular periods. My hysterectomy revealed that I also had endometriosis, adenomyosis, multiple adhesions, and hyperplasia of the cervix. I have had Laparoscopic Ovarian Laser surgery when trying to conceive, 2 C-sections with both children, Laparoscopic Gallbladder removal and now an Abdominal Hysterectomy. I am very passionate about 2 things: PCO and the correlation between it and Insulin Resistance and now also Post-surgical Menopause in women who have a remaining ovary or two. I am learning all I can about HRT and compounded hormones.
I hope I can be of some comfort and encouragement to women in the HMJ and am very honored to be asked to be a hostess.
