Hi, I'm the hystersister called Janie. I act as one of the hostesses on the Hormone Jungle Forum. I live in a small farming community called Croswell, MI. Its in the thumb area of Michigan near Lake Huron. (You can tell a Michigander because they show their hand when asked where they live). I'm 45 years old and have a wonderful husband of 25 years and two teenage daughters. DH is a farmer and I am a certified public accountant and I have a small practice of my own in my town.

I am one of the unfortunates that has struggled for years with endometriosis and ovarian cysts. I was never really diagnosed and my complaints were basically ignored. I was told more than once "live with it - you're a women - its your lot in life." and then prescribed ever increasing doses of pain killers. Then I found a wonderful doctor who finally diagnosed the endo. He performed a tah/bso on 11/4/99 and another surgeon performed much repair work to bladder, bowel, and rectum. I have no regrets. While I am still struggling through the hormone jungle, I am living pain free for the first time in years and finally I can sneeze without wetting myself. I love it!!

I discovered the hystersister site about a month before my scheduled surgery and felt immediately at home. When my surgery was cancelled the night before (after I had already started my bowel prep), I came here first and the support I received saved my sanity. When I finally had the surgery, I became a hystersister addict - which is what I still am today.

I have made some wonderful friends and I hope now I can give back a little of the support I received here.

I don't have all the answers, but I have some and can offer much support, encouragement, love, sympathy, and a cup of raspberry tea. That's what I have received here and I'll always be grateful.
