Why have some of the words in my post been blanked? Why was my post edited?

Certain words may have been censored by the administrator. If your posts contain any censored words, they will be blanked-out like this: ****.

The same words are censored for all users, and censoring is done by a computer simply searching and replacing words. It is in no way 'intelligent'.

Are there rules for community behavior at the HysterSisters.com website?
Yes! When you registered you agreed to our website guidelines (also known as TOS: Terms of Service). To reread these guidelines [Click here]

These website guidelines help keep HysterSisters on track especially in the discussion area of our website. Please make yourself familiar with our "Guidelines".

What is Netiquette?
Proper manners help make a community get along well. With so many members its important to be aware of your tone, your grammar, etc.

Here are some commonly used "Netiquette" rules:
  • Typing in ALL UPPERCASE LETTERS is considered yelling.
  • *Asterisks* surrounding a word can be used to make a stronger point.
  • Use the underscore symbol before and after the title of a book, i.e. _The Wizard of Oz_
  • Try to remember good writing skills; punctuation (or lack thereof) can change the whole meaning of a sentence. Paragraphs make it easier to read a lengthy message.
  • Typically one post per thread is sufficient for your contribution, lest it may appear that you are having an ongoing conversation, leaving some contributors feeling ‘left out’ or ignored, and that can be better carried out in Private Messaging or emails.
  • Remember that these discussions are "public" and meant for supportive and constructive exchanges. Treat the others on the thread as you would want them to treat you.
  • Never forget that the person reading your post or chat comment is, indeed, a person, with feelings that can be hurt. On the other side of the coin, remember not to post "flame-bait." Be patient, apologize and move forward. Remember, we were all new to the Internet at one time.
  • If you have posted a question/comment asking for points of view, opinions, ideas, support or feedback, please be prepared to read something with which you may may not agree. A site like ours involves many points of view, different cultures and personal circumstances. Do not reply with a flame. It is very easy to ignore what you don't agree with, or begin a healthy discussion involving different points of view. Again, please give suggestions with kind consideration in mind. Choice of words is important. Our moderators will reply with a different viewpoint or official statement if they feel that poor or unsafe advice has been given. In some cases, notes or discussions may be removed.

Is there freedom of speech at HysterSisters?
Although the constitution of the US guarantees that “Congress shall make no law abridging the freedom of speech”, Hyster Sisters is not Congress. Freedom of speech rights do not extend to this privately owned website. The TOS/Guidelines of this website governs the behaviors and activities of the members. If you choose not to follow the guidelines agreed to during registration, the result is a disabling of your account.
