Why should I register? How do I register?

Registration is free and allows you to do the following:

Post new threads
Reply to other people's threads
Receive Checkpoints
Edit your posts
Receive email notification of replies to posts and threads you specify
Send private messages to other members
Enter events in the forum calendar
Set up a 'buddy-list' to quickly see which of your friends are currently online

To register, you will need to specify a username and password, and a valid email address. Entering your email address will not leave you open to 'spam', as you can choose to hide your email address, and messages sent to you via email do not reveal your address to the sender in any case. (To verify this, you can try sending an email message to another user.) You will then be sent the final part of the registration process by email, so ensure that the email address you provide is valid and working.

Why do I have to give my email to you during registration? Is it protected from spam?

Your email address can be optionally hidden, ensuring complete privacy. (However, if you choose this option, only administrators may contact you through the boards.) The administrator has enabled a mail form style to allow other members to email you without them seeing your actual email address, so if you'd like to enable this, no one will see your address until you respond to an email that they send you. Make certain that you have entered a correct and valid email address as some features of the board require your valid address. You may not use excite.com "free web email addresses" on this board. Because of the bulletin boards use of email, we must be able to contact you directly through your ISP's email address. Your email address is protected and can be hidden by you in the registration process. Your email address is not given to anyone or sold to anyone for SPAM.
