Can you tell me about the history of HysterSisters.com?
HysterSisters Hysterectomy Recovery website was launched in August of 1998 as a simple website with static content by Kathy Kelley. The website continues to be managed and maintained by Kathy along with a large staff of hostess volunteers and a small staff of helpers in the HysterSisters offices. Who are hostesses?
Hostesses are the online moderators who manage the forum discussions. Their goal is to make sure each member finds the support they need within our forum discussions. Hostesses oversee specific forums. They may edit, move, merge, split threads to keep discussions on track with the intent to provide our members with the best replies possible. How do you select hostesses? Can I apply for a position?
Hostesses at HysterSisters.com are selected from our community based on their forum activity. We do not take applications for hostess positions. Becoming a hostess for a specific forum is usually rewarded to users who are particularly helpful and knowledgeable in the subject of the forum they are moderating.
