Hi everyone

My name is Wendy and I live in Ontario, Canada - and as of right now we have not a flake of snow on the ground!! I've been off work for 2 years after being my business unit was declared redundant but taking a lot of courses towards a professional designation in real estate appriasals. I am also a licenced real estate salesperson which ties into the appraisal bit. When not working, I love to race sailboats, travel and spend time at my mom's cottage in mid-Ontario. My family consists of a semi-retired geekie husband, a chunky-butt of a cat, a 30-something separated daughter, a 13 year-old grandson and a 92 yo mom - no we don't all live in the same house, just the same city! My gyne background includes removal of a dermoid ovarian cyst in 1970, some endometrosis during my 30s and early 40s, then D&C and LAVH/BSO in 2005 for endometrial cancer 1b2-the scariest thing I've ever experienced.
I found HysterSisters when looking for information on post-op symptoms and lurked for a while reading posts, checkpoints, all the stuff that I didn't get from either doctor or the hospital - too shell-shocked to even ask. I finally joined then became a crown jewel when I realized how much the site had given me. My invite to be a hostess came the same day I had been thinking about what it takes to become one! What a great supportive team of women here and I'm delighted to be apart of it.
