Article: Patches: adhesive removal

How can I remove the sticky adhesive that is left when I change my estrogen patch?

There are several thing you can try to remove the adhesive. You may need to experiment to find the one that works best for you.

You can try removing it with a wet, soapy washcloth or try baby oil, Vaseline, Goo Gone or nail polish remover on a cotton ball. Rub gently and always wash the area thoroughly to remove all traces of whatever was used to remove the adhesive.

If your skin is red or itchy after removing the patch and cleaning the area, ask your doctor about applying some over-the-counter hydrocortisone cream to the affected area.
