Article: Burning UP?
I'm post TAH/BSO and have been on HRT for about 6 months, but taking it has made me even more fatigued and confused, and the hot flashes are totally out of control! I'm starting to think this is psychological. What else can I do?
This really isn’t a psychological thing ~ it IS hormonal ~ and you need to try another regimen of HRT. There are so many options available, and the right dosages of estrogen ( and sometimes adding progesterone and testosterone) could make all the difference.
Some ladies, with surgical menopause, find they don’t respond well to traditional HRT, and find great improvement with compounding pharmacies options.
Hot flashes can be a signal of not having enough hormones but it can also be a sign that you have too much. Sometimes it takes some persistence and keeping a daily journal to write down your hot flashes along with the kind of HRT you are currently taking. Talk to your doctor and begin the process of changing.
While you are working on getting better relief with your hormone therapy, you can try keeping a fan near you, a glass of water and try the "Chillow" for night time relief.
At the end of the day, you don’t have to feel like this. Go back to your doctor and ask for a better HRT prescription. If he cannot help, try to find another who is more experienced in knowing what a woman needs for “balance”.
Don’t give up ~ you’ve a long life ahead of you!
