Categories for Journals. Here's how and why! 12-22-2004 - 07:32 AM
Hey gals,

We added a new features to our journals to help browsers find journal entries and to help our members be able to find the recent journal entries once they "fall off" the front page of "latest entries".

We can now browse the journals by:

Username

Journal Category

Latest entries

To change your journal to a category you think fits best for you....simply click on CHANGE CATEGORY button. You can update/change it anytime you want. It moves your entire journal to a new category.

If you had a diagnosis of endo or cancer, this is a great time to put your journal in those categories for the benefit of our many readers who are looking for journals about cancer (and normal living amongst that dx)

If you are journaling your hyst experience, change your journal to "Hysterectomy"

If you are a B.E.S.T. (Better Eaters Support Team) member, put your journal there for a place to journal your daily progress and goals.

Sound easy? It is!

An exciting new adventure 04-20-2004 - 08:05 AM
I'm not sure I have the time or energy to add to my journal often, but I thought since it is here, I'd write an entry, put down a few thoughts and enjoy the new addition to the Hyster Sisters site.

I love this place. I know it seems silly that after 5 years of being online I should tire of it, but I don't. I am constantly amazed at the loving replies of the members, the women exchanging words of wisdom and hugs from across the miles made possible by the internet. Amazing thing this internet.

To imagine that the internet provides a medium for thousands of women to meet together and share a common experience is incredible.

To imagine that the internet provides a place for friendships to form is a joy.

To imagine that this place used to be such a simple website with a few pages of content is a technology miracle made possible by the brain cells and energy of so many.

And so, once again I'm energized to the added possibilities for the Hyster Sisters and their journals. I love reading them and getting a glimpse into the struggles and triumphs of my online sisters who I grow to know and love through their words.

I'm excited to know that in years to come, these journals will be here for women who are walking in places where we trod today and need to hear about our joys and frustrations.

I love this place!
