Drs office adventure 06-04-2007 - 11:49 AM
Hi Everyone,
Sorry it has taken me so long to write an entry, but here I am and I promise not to stay away so long again.
Since Miss Linda made the request that I tell ya'll my adventure at the Drs office story I guess I'll start with that one.
First of all for those of you that havent read any of my entries let me explain before I tell this story that I have a big crush on my gyn. His name is Dr Clary, but I tend to refer to him more as Dr Hunka Hunka.
Well I went in for my yearly checkup and I didn't think it would be quite this exciting, but here goes.
I did the usual got called back from the waiting room, had to get on that dreaded scale and then I changed into that lovely peek-a-boo gown and patiently waited for Dr Hunka Hunka to knock on the door.
As my heart skipped a beat when I saw those big brown eyes he asked me to put one foot in each foot rest.
I went to put one foot in the stirrup and all of a sudden my foot somehow got hung and I was hanging on to the side of the table trying not to fall off. Now all of you know those gowns don't cover much so I was hanging on for dear life showing all of my stuff.
Like Superman Dr Hunka Hunka came to my rescue pulling me up and he was able to finish the exam without anymore potential disasters.

Have a great week everyone. Melanie

Thanks 04-10-2007 - 06:29 PM
Hi, I just wanted say thanks for all the wonderful support from each and everyone of you while I was waiting to hear about the cyst.
Some of you have asked what Dr Clary a/k/a hunka hunka looks like...
Well hum.... he is on the chubby side, but in a cute way. He has short dark hair and blue-grey eyes. He is kind of short as well, but when I look at him I just melt. My DH always says before he walks in the room...'Now Mel wipe the drool off of your chin." LOL
Love and thanks! Melanie

Good News 04-06-2007 - 01:02 PM
Happy Good Friday to everyone.
I wanted to share my good news. The cyst that I have is nothing to worry about. Its very small and will disappear as quietly as it came. I am so thankful for my Dr Clary a/k/a hunka hunka. He explained everything to me and assured me that all was okay. He said my poor body has been through so much that he didn't want to remove it unless it was absolutely necessary.
All in all a great appointment. Have a wonderful Easter and thanks for your love and support. Melanie

Things get stranger and stranger 04-02-2007 - 12:25 PM
Hi Girls, Happy Monday! I am so sorry that I havent had a chance to reply to your entries, but I promise I will.
Here is an update as far as the cyst goes. My strange, unfriendly Dr(not hunka hunka) Ganley called me this afternoon with my ultra sound results.
He said I have gall stones. When I said what should I do about them he said " nothing at all." When he never mentioned the cyst.... I said what about the cyst the technician found. He said "oh thats right you have a cyst on your left overy. He also said that would be alright to leave alone. Now this is the dude that thought I was still having a period. LOL
I asked him to fax my ultra sound to Dr Clary(hunka..hunka) and he said its really no need to do that. Its a small cyst, but I will if thats what you want me to do. He just faxed the results to me.
This is what the ultra sound says.
1.9x1.4 simple cyst they refer to this as probably physiologic.
I think I will still take this and chat with Dr Clary about it.
Big thanks for your help and listening! Mel

Sadie says thanks and Mom's test results 03-30-2007 - 01:11 PM
Dear Friends, Its Sadie. I just wanted to drop in and say thank you for all your heartfelt prayers and get well wishes. They worked cause I am back to my normal snorting self. Pug hugs and kisses! Sadie
My Mom however needs your help and advice. She went to for an ultra sound today and the tech found a large cyst on her right overy. I have tried to help her,but I know you all can do a much better job. I'll smoother her with kisses if you can ease her mind. Even though she loves her hunka hunka Dr Clary she would hate to have to have more surgery. Can you all please ease my Mom's mind?
Love Sadie. xoxoxoxooox

Sadie 03-29-2007 - 06:38 AM
Hi Everyone, I have been meaning to write, but I wanted to make sure I wouldn't break into the ugly right here at work so I had to wait until I was 'stable' enough to write an entry cause I have been a mess since Tues.
On Tuesday...my poor little Sadie had a life threatening allergic reaction. Her throat closed and she came very close to dying. I'm just so glad we got her to the vet in time and she is back to her sweet self.
The culprit we think was a french fry from Five Guys and Fries. They season their fries and cook them in peanut oil. The vet said she could have also been bit by a bee,but thats really unlikely cause when I see a bee buzz around her we walk the other way.
Thank goodness all worked out for the best.
Thanks for listening and I hope all of you have a great rest of the week and weekend.

Happy Monday! 03-26-2007 - 07:21 AM
I hope everyone had a great weekend? Today was my first day going by the post office and getting the mail. I didn't chance stopping at Starbucks cause I didn't know how long it would take to get in the post office and get the mail, but now that I know it doesn't take that long I may be making a trip to Starbucks before I head to work in the mornings. That will be my "treat" for getting up so much earlier then before. So this am before its even light outside I head out to walk Sadie in my nightgown and hair standing up on end. At least no one could see how bad I looked. LOL I am not a morning person at all so I don't know how I will adjust to this new schedule, but I guess I don't have any choice.
They say that Menapause can make you do strange things girls... here is mine. I used to play the violin years ago when I was young. I havent picked it up in years. Scott and I were at the mall yesterday and wandered in the music store. I saw all those beautiful violins on the wall and wanted to see if I could "play" again. Needless to say it didn't come right back to me. LOL
I asked the sales lady if they offered lessons for adults and she they did. So I'm all signed up for lessons and begin this week. LOL
Well if thats the strangest thing that Menapause has in store for me then I'll be okay. I'm excited to re learn something new.
I guess thats all for now. Have a great week and I'm sure I'll have funny violin lesson stories.

Happy Friday Everyone and my Dr Visit 03-23-2007 - 09:04 AM
Happy Friday Everyone! Sadie sends pug hugs and kisses to all of her knew friends. Monica....I appreciate your advice as far as getting a brother or a sister for Sadie, but I don't think she would like it. She has had my undivided attention for 3 years now and as you can tell she is spoiled rotten(her daddy made her that way lol) and a momma's girl. LOL She enjoys the company of other dogs as long as I don't pay any attention to them. LOL
Yesterday I had a really funny experience I thought you all might find humorous.
I have had this gassy feeling in my tummy for a couple weeks now and yesterday while at work it became really bad. So I called my regular Dr( not my hunka-hunka gyn) and hoped he would prescribe something over the phone. No luck. So I made an appointment and went to see Dr friendly(he isn't) He checked my tummy and asked me nurmerous questions and decided I have an ulcer. Which didn't surprise me since I have taken on alot of stress at work. All was good until he asked to look at my hyster scar. I didn't understand why. He asked to see it the last time I went to have my blood pressure pres re-filled...so I wondered why he wanted to see it again. His comment was "you were cut up pretty bad." Here comes the funny part...he looked at my file and said "so Dr Clary left your overies." How regular have your periods been since you had your hysterectomy?" I had to laugh out loud. I very calmly explained that after a hysterectomy there are no more periods. I had to explain that to a Dr. I told him a really easy way to remember is...if you have a uterus then you have a period. If you don't have a uterus then you don't have periods. What a silly man. LOL
I hope my story brightenend your days. Melanie

Thanks from Sadie and other stuff 03-22-2007 - 07:34 AM
Hi! my name is Sadie and I wanted to say thank all of you for my birthday wishes. I was reading my Mom's entry dedicated to me and I am proud to say I am pleased with her words except.....I don't see myself as pudgy. I mean I have these pesky 5 pounds I need to lose, but what is a girl to do? Mom knows not to spread false rumors about me...what will the pugs at my play group think if this gets out? Oh well! thanks for letting me stop by and chat. Better go. Pug hugs and kisses! Sadie

Sadie and I wanted to both say thank you for your kind wishes to her on her b-day.
We have managed to avoid any sickness from that Iams recall and we hope the same for your fur babies.
For those of you that have recently lost your fur baby due to this tradegy you are in are hearts and prayers.
Big Mel

Happy Birthday Sadie 03-21-2007 - 06:27 AM
Today is my pug Sadie's 3rd birthday. I just wanted to write an entry in honor of her.
Alice Walker said that when someone touches your heart they are called heart prints.
Sadie is one of my heart prints and I couldn't imagine life without her.
So happy birthday to my pudgy, kissing, snorting, snuggly, shedding, slobbering, shoe chewing, green bean loving girl. I couldn't imagine life without you.
I love you! Momma

I'm A Doormat 03-20-2007 - 08:51 AM
Happy Tuesday Ladies! I hope everyone is having a great week so far.
I only had one New Years resolution this year and it was not to be a doormat...I guess the old saying is true you can't teach an old dog new tricks. Or at least this old dog.
Here is why.....We have a Monday morning staff meeting here at work each week. We go over minor department issues, work flow, etc. If you all hadn't guessed by now I work with mostly adult women who act like children. One of my co-workers speaks up and says.."I am tired of going to get the mail every morning before work and although I volunteered I just don't want to do it anymore." So my boss looks at me and says "the post office is sort of on your way to work...isn't it?" I said I would go each morning and get the mail. What bothers me most is some people here can do exactly what they want and no questions asked.
Others are held accountable for everything. So next Monday I began my new duty of getting the mail. I was really impressed at the 'generosity' of my other co-worker who promised she would finish out this week. LOL
Thanks for listening to me vent Ladies and have a great day! Melanie

Happy Friday 03-16-2007 - 06:44 AM
Happy Friday to everyone...we made it through another week.
This morning was hectic...I overslept and had 12 minutes to bathe and get ready for work. I hate to rush. DH was kind enough to walk Sadie (our pug) since I have to be here at 8:00 to answer the phone.
I got here and had to primp at my desk. LOL
Have a wonderful weekend everyone! Melanie

Better day then yesterday....I'm sure. 03-15-2007 - 07:13 AM
Hi ladies, We are almost through the work week. yipee. Yesterday was a big, fat mess. We have this new computer program called OnBase here at work and its making everyone crazy. Our office hopes to be a no paper office eventually, but in my opinion paper was alot less of a headache. LOL Today however is a much better day. Its Thursday, the sun is shinning and my boss brought bagels and cream cheese for everyone today. yum.
Linda...I'm glad you enjoyed having lunch with your mom. I know Gail is missing you as much as you are missing her.
Thanks for giving me the honor of being your friend. I treasure our friendship.
And to my new friends here...thanks for accepting the
"new gal"

Happy Wednesday 03-14-2007 - 07:51 AM
First of all I wanted to say a big thank you to everyone for welcoming me so warmly. I feel like one of the girls....thank you.
Last night DH went to a concert with a friend and didn't get home until 2:00 am and of course he woke me up to tell me all about it. LOL So needless to say I am sitting here at my desk trying to stay awake.
Last night since DH was out of town I had dinner with my parents. I am always a bit apprehensive going out with them alone because they are of the critical nature.
I just new they were going to tell me... you shouldn't eat that, you're too fat,etc...but they were both kind and we had a surprisingly good time.
Have a great day ladies and thanks again. Melanie

I'm back 03-13-2007 - 08:16 AM
Today its supposed to be in the 70s in Richmond....and why am I stuck inside at work?? lol
I am a receptionist at a really old(200 years) and small insurance company. My job is a great fit for me...I love it. I have always been a people person so it works for me.
However there are mostly women here so on any given day we can have some drama. Things have calmed down quite a bit since last year... here is why.
My boss hired a mother and daughter to work together and boy thats exactly what they did. They picked me to bully since they knew I wouldn't speak up. Oh the fun they had...when I had my bladder surgery they refused to sit in my chair since they new my bladder was going to fall and end up on the chair at any given moment. So when they had to sit at my desk they wheeled their own.
After my hysterectomy they told everyone in the office that I had a infectious disease and the list goes on and on.
Happily the daughter got preg and after having to look at pictures of her womb all over her computer for months at a time she left and gave birth. The mother is still here, but doesn't seem to want to bully alone. She recently had to have a tooth pulled and its right in the front of her mouth. I guess what goes around comes around.
Everyone enjoy the warm weather and have a great week. Melanie
