17 Hours To Go.... 04-26-2004 - 12:02 PM
Well it is down to the wire. It is 2pm and I have to be at the Castle tomorrow morning at 7am. Went in this morning for the final bloodwork and instructions. I think I just might be sick before the day is over. I just don't know anymore. Just when you think you have all the answers there are more questions.

I spent this past weekend (hence no entries) with my DD. We went to Orlando, she had State Competition, and just spent some quality time together. It was good. Well needed.. LOL..

So here I am, very nervous. Did the last of the laundry, changed the bed, packed the bag and just about whatever I can think of. Oh yeah, have to go to the store, make sure there is food that they can actually cook, on their own...LOL..

Pre-Op Clearance. 04-22-2004 - 11:40 AM
This is ridiculous. The insurance company says you have to be cleared for surgery by the Primary Care Physician.

Ok, called him made the appointment. Asked about the bloodwork and all that. Was told of couse you need that but not at the office you have to go to an offsite lab..

So the running begins...

Get the paperwork on Monday,
At the Lab on Tuesday,
Primary Dr. Appt on Thursday (I got Wednesday off... LOL)
Pre-Op Phone Interview (believe that!) on Friday morning.
Pre-Op Visit at the Castle Monday morning..

Tuesday THE DAY!!!

So I went to the Primary today and he told me my urine test came back a "Little Funky"! What is that? He said shows beginning signs of infection.. OMG!!! So I had to pee in the cup AGAIN. He said worst comes to worst, I start Antibiotics and it shouldn't interfere with my surgery..

UGH!

Depressing Paperwork 04-22-2004 - 11:35 AM
Last night I had to fill out "The Paperwork". I have actually been putting this off for, oh about 16 years. When my DD was born, my parents started with "You Gotta Make A Will" thing.

So needless to say I was younger and thought I was invincible. Now I am older, wiser, more tired and just plain UGH.

Doesn't help the situation that I am in a "Domestic Partnership" and all that grants my parnter is visitation rights.

So here I was with the really morbid task of Power of Attorney, Living Will, Healthcare Power of Attorney and my Will.

So I began the task and got frustrated along the way. Here in Florida if you don't cross your T's and dot your I's things could get ugly. After all who would want the Governor to keep you alive when you can't live not me!

Auntie Flo & The Power Trip... 04-21-2004 - 11:27 AM
The end of January 2004, I began my vacation from the meds and attempted to try and get my life back only to find out that Auntie Flo was back and boy was she honkerblonked.

Her first return trip was for 18 days. She really overstayed her visit! Her next visit was shorter and right to the point! The point of pain at every turn.

This last visit was her way of telling me she was in total control. Not only did she show up late, she lurked around, I had to get out the old heating pad to draw her out and she was stubborn as all get out! She took her sweet time, casuing nothing but pain and frustration and one really desperate call to the Wizzard!

I went to see the Wizzard and pleaded my case that this wretched woman was ruining my life. He agreed that she must be taken out and her Endometrosis cohorts disposed of, never to return and render torture amongst those who have done nothing wrong.

So the Wizzard came up with a plan.. A Lapraoscopic Supracervical Hysterectomy! April 27th is the day and Auntie Flo won't get in the way!

Lupron Nightmare 04-21-2004 - 11:19 AM
I think the Lupron Nightmare was actually worse than anything else I have had to deal with.

I had Hot Flashes, Night Sweats, Bone Pain, Joint Pain, Muscle Pain, Insomnia, Mood Swings, Depression, Hair Loss, Bouts of Anger, Fatigue and the list goes on and on. I actually ended up in the Emergency Room once because the muscle and bone pain was so bad that I couldn't use my right leg.

I was given Agystin (Add-Back) therapy to help ease the Menopausal symptoms. It didn't help, I actually am scared at the thought of how much worse it would have been without it.

I was on pain meds the entire time. I endured the 6 month torture in an attempt to avoid a hyster. I agreed to go on Depo Provera to help prolong the inevitable.

I only handled one treatment (lasted 3 months) of Depo Provera. Went back to the Wizzard and agreed to take a vacation from the drugs to see if I would get any releif.

Sad to say it didn't work.

Some Seeya Info... 04-19-2004 - 06:08 PM
Hi all! Just thought I would start with a little 411. I am 36 years old and have been dealing with the problems for about 20 years on and off. Traveled the road of BCP's and whatnot's.

Things went from bad to ugly about 3 years ago (2001). Went to see the Wizzard cuz I just couldn't handle the pain anymore. Went back on Pill Therapy and was "handling" it for about a year. Finally in March of 2002 I had a D&C. This helped for about 3 months then back on the Pill.

This had no help whatsoever. I endured more and more pain, heavy bleeding and then the bleeding just stopped. I would be attached to the heating pad hoping Auntie Flo would get a move on and boy was she tough every month.

I had a Laparoscopy in May of 2003 and it has all been downhill from there. I was diagnosed with Severe Stage IV Endometriosis. I had both Fallopian Tubes removed as they were damaged beyond beleif. I had endo all over my Uterus, Ovaries and Colon.

Then came the Lupron. That is where i must end for now. I will continue with the saga later.
