Pre-Op Tests

Hi!

I went for pre-op today; surgery TAH/BSO is scheduled for the 26th;

Anyway, tests they did were as follows: Urinalysis; blood draw (three different vials); EKG and Chest X-ray.

Does anyone know if these are normal tests (If anything in this is "normal")

I was not sure.

I asked the nurse at the time and she said it was fairly normal; and the Dr. was just wanting to make sure my lungs were clear for Anest. and that the heart was also ok...

Do any of you know how long it takes to get the results of these back? I forgot to ask, and they told me they would only call if there was a problem...

Yup, sounds like the standard deal to me. You got off easy hon; I spent three hours doing the preop appointment tests and an hour and a half with the anesthesia people!! (I was a very complex case.) I had six or seven vials of blood drawn, and a terrible time getting a vein that would run properly. It was not a fun day.
