Symptoms of recurrent cervical cancer

Hello again Ladies
Could anyone that has had a recurrence of cervical cancer after being treated conservatively ie; LEEP, Cone biopsy etc tell me if you experienced any symptoms or was it just discovered on your next pap?
Appreciate any replies
Love to you all

Symptoms of recurrent cervical cancer

I was diagnosed with cervical cancer in 1998 before the birth of my first son. I had two cone biopsies, had it frozen off, then had a LEEP, and was fine until Spring 2004. I had been very careful to have two pap smears twice a year for three years, then went back to just once a year. The cancer (and it is in just the earliest stages) is back, and since I am done having kids, I am having a TVH on Dec. 20. There were absolutely NO symptoms at all. None. This is why I stress the importance of annual physicals for all of my sexually active friends.

Pap smears

Hi KittyKat

Thank you for your reply. What did the pap smear report say? Did it come back as CIN 111 / Carcinoma in situ.....etc? How invasive was the cancer when it was originally detected?

As it says down at the bottom of my post my cancer was invasive by .3mm and I originally was going to have a TVH. I had an appointment with a gyn/onc and at conference it was decided that the 2 LLETZ/LEEP procedures I had would be sufficient and that any recurrence could be treated with further LLETZ/LEEP.....not sure that I feel all that comfortable with this and just get the feeling that it's not all over yet (although I guess that a cancer diagnosis leaves you feeling this way anyway).

I wish you all the very, very best for the 20th and hope everything goes exactly to plan and you have a speedy and peaceful recovery.
