_Inventing the Rest of Our Lives...Women in Second Adulthood_
By Suzanne Braun Levine. Has anyone read this book? Just came across a review in a magazine today....says it is "A you-go-girl manual for the menopause crowd"!!

A book for us!

I just saw this author on the Fox new channel promoting her book. She says that women's brains actually grow when they hit 50 somewhat like adolescent's brains grow at 13. She says we become more inquisitive, less interested in what people think about us, more able to say "NO" when we don't feel like doing something and we stop sweating the small stuff. I have found some of this to be true. What about you gals? I think I am going to order this book.

I'm sure in agreement about the "less interested in what people think about us" part !!!

I also agree with the easier to say NO and not sweating the small stuff.

Not so sure about the more inquisitive part. I'll have to think about that one...

Think I'll look around eBay for this book, it sounds like a really good read.

I just got this book but I haven't read it yet. (ordred from Amazon, but did see it at Barnes and Noble yesterday)

I find it easier to say "no" and "don't sweat the small stuff" and I am definitely less interested in what other people think. I like the part about our brains growing!! Guess I had better put my brain to good use and read this book!

Yes, now that you mention it- I do find myself worrying less about what people think about me.

I've always been inquisitive and still am.

I'm working on the saying "no " part!

Defiantly sounds like a book I'd want. I'm also caring less these days what others think of me. I've always been extremely inquisitive. And I'm learning the NO thing. About time! I also like the part about the brain growing. very interesting.
