My has this been a strange few days. It started when the clinic fouled up and sent me my medical records vs. the new gynecologist and I decided to look through...and continues through the letter I'm about to write to a local TV reporter.
Outside of the awareness I'm going to do hopefully with the TV channel, I don't know where I am right now.

Ellen, !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Some doctors need to be more honest with their patients -- and careful with terminology used. They should know "anyone" (including patients) may some day be reading medical records.
I had an experience with hospital administration. After my DCIS diagnosis, I knew (almost for sure, but not quite) I'd be needing a lumpectomy. The hospital called me for pre-admittance info before I had officially been told by my doctor that I needed the surgery. My doctor said (and I believe him) that he had put a note in my folder before it was transferred to the hospital not to call the patient before such-and-such date and time. The hospital blew it. And the hospital heard about it from me !!!!!

HI Ellen, I am following your story from England via the blog and this board. Glad you are doing your bit for those who may come after; Miracles happen, may you live long to see much change for good in the care of ovca patients.
(I've just written a blast to the doctors who refused to accept I was wide awake and un-sedated during my colonoscopy/gastroscopy - it doesnt' change things for me, but it might help the next person)
Love
H
