"relations" with hubby?

Please help! I had TAH on 3-29-05 and feeling pretty good. Have overdone it a few times and swelly belly comes on. Haven't had any pantiliner for 3 days and surgeon said I should listen to my body. Surgeon said healing is right on schedule. I want to be "with" my DH , but I am scared that we will do damage!!! Sounds dumb I know! My DH will listen to my directions about this, but it has been over 5 weeks since we were "with" eachother. Any advice? I bought some personal lubricant because friend said with only one ovary and no uterus "You might be dry". YIKES!!!!!!! Any input would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you so very much!!!!

The common wisdom on this board seems to be 6 weeks or a specific clearance from your doctor. There are other options for the satisfaction of both you and the DH. My suggestion would be to explore some of those rather than takes chances. My DH and I have.

I had a radical on 3/9. I literally have nothing left! I was SURE that things (which were previously REALLY GOOD) would never be the same.

We recieved 'clearance' at 6 weeks. I also bought lubricant...thinking that it would be necessary. Happily, we haven't had to use it at all.....a little extra forplay as been all that is needed. Also, no problem with the big "O". My advice is to go slow...we decided that I should be able to "call the shots and decide what/how/how long/how quickly we should do things. I was very uptight, but wanted to try. At first it was a bit uncomfortable...but again we took it slow and everything worked out beautifully. There are still some positions that just feel "wrong." So, we've just done other things.

Good luck...and remember, if it doesn't feel right.....don't do it.

katsharp, your reply makes me feel a lot better, as I am also going to have nothing left, not even ovaries. I have really been wondering how our sex life could be the same.

I know everyone is different and no guarantees, but you give me hope!

I am having the hyst because of early cervical cancer and although I know the first priority is my life, it's hard to accept the price will be my sexuality. It would be great if that turns out not to be the case!

I'm another one who had everything out and I've been cleared for sex by my Dr. Have to report that everything works just fine. - Maybe even BETTER!!! Dryness was no problem (and it was before). I
