"Empty" feeling?

I was talking to a friend of mine the other day and she asked if I could tell that my uterus was gone. I told her it didn't feel any different.
She said after she had hers and the heaviness feeling went away, she could feel that it was gone. I don't see how because I really can't tell any difference.
Can anyone else tell that theirs is gone? I still feel the same as before except no pain and no more periods....yaaaayyyy!!!

"Empty" feeling?

yes I can - but that may be because of a really big fibroid was there and I could feel and see it -- it feels soft and squishy now vs hard and lumpy.

"Empty" feeling?

I don't feel empty there, but I do feel different... I can feel bubbles or pressure in the area that used to have my uterus in it, at least thats the way it feels ... I assumed it is my bowel taking up the area, not always comfortable either.

I can tell a difference to, but that I guess is because before I had this constant pressure and I do not.

"Empty" feeling?

Hi,

There might be a short period of time when the internal organs are adjusting to their new positions that you might have a sensation of things moving around, but you really shouldn't feel "empty".

If your uterus was "normal" sized, which is the size of a pear, it just doesn't take up that much space. An enlarged uterus will take up more room, but even then, there's no gaping hole left where the uterus used to be.

Think of your insides like a bowl of spaghetti. If you take out a meatball, the noodles just fill in the gap. So there are no empty spaces left inside.

I think your friend was just having a psychological adjustment.

s,

Lisa

I can tell, only because my uterus was so far down my vagina I could feel it all the time. The doc. said it was like I was carrying around a 2 pound wt. I feel great now, as light as a feather!

"Empty" feeling?

I was worried about feeling "empty" pre-op and asked my GYN about it. He said he gets that question often, but most of his patients just say they feel better.

At first I could feel a BIG difference, while everything was still moving into new positions. Now I just feel better. The pressure is gone and I feel lighter inside. Also, my bowels seem much happier ! (Sorry if that is TMI!) Overall I am relieved.
