Cervical Cancer stage 1b

In February of 2005 I went to the Dr. because I felt something was right. After pursuading the Dr. to examine me, to her surprise, I started bleeding. That was the beginning of my trial. After another Dr. visit and a biopsy, I was diagnosed with Cervical cancer. When the Dr. said "cancer," I literally got sick. It was the scariest thing I had to go through. After hearing, "you will not be able to have children," I felt as though the wall were caving in on me. What a harsh blow life gave me. I had my hysterectomy in April of 2005. Prior to my surgery, the Dr. told me I was stage 2b but after my surgery my oncologist told me I was 1b, with no spreading... thank God! Recovery was very tough for me, especially since I had to wear a cathedar for a month but I'm so grateful to say that I'm fine and cancer free! Thankfully, my eggs were left, so when the time is right, my husband and I plan to find a surrogate mother. This experience was the toughest thing I had to endure, mentally, physically, emotionally and spiritually but I'm here to say that I made it. Even still dealing with some side effects from my surgery, I'm thankful to be alive!
