7 years later, no regrets
Just wanted to check in. I found this site invaluable when I had my VagHystx & Birch procedure (bladder tie up). I wanted to let all of you know that I have no regrets & would do it again in a heart beat. 7 years later, things are working properly with no changes in my left (except increased $$ from not buying Kotex!). I would caution those who do have hystx to watch their weight post op...mine kept creeping up over the years (about 1# a year)...it's all belly fat & very difficult to get rid of. Also, try to maintain you core muscles, they tend to get "lax" afterwards. Sometimes I wonder if my "bowels" have dropped into the area where my uterus was!! Anyway, you will recover, it is sometimes slower than expected but be patient & take care of yourself. Good Luck to all who are considering a Hystx or have had one...you will never regret it!!

Wow -- almost 7 years!
Thanks for checking in with us. I have to agree with you on the weight issue. I am finally doing something about my weight (which has been a problem for years). However, I don't find that mine is MORE of a problem since my hysterectomy because I'm exercising along with the diet restrictions.
 to you.
