success stories after adenocarcinoma anyone?

I had my cone biopsy on April 18th and my radical TAH on May 12th. My Dr. never said anything about waiting due to the cone biopsy. Everything moved along rather quickly, which was fine with me. I wanted to get 'the beast" out of me ASAP! Just my

success stories after adenocarcinoma anyone?

I just wanted to say good luck in your journey. When we were discussing my surgery (which still hasn't happened), the doctor didn't want to do it until at least 4-6 weeks after the biopsy either. I originally had adenocarcinoma in situ and was told by the oncologist that pregnancy would not accelerate the growth of cells ,however, the immune compromised state that pregnancy brings about may. As for the MRIs, CTs and other tests...most are just standard precautions as another poster mentioned. It allows the docs to have a better view of what is going on before they are in there, it can clue them into other areas that need to be checked out as well. They won't tell you anything final until the "specimens" are out and pathology is complete...just think of the additional tests a guide or map that is providing more information prior to surgery. I'm sure that your doc can provide a sedative if you need one (usually xanex, ativan, or something of that sort). The image testing isn't painful but can be very claustrophobic and scary (especially since you are waiting for potentially scary results)...

Anyway, just wanted to wish you well and I hope that everything works out for you!

My DH told me to do all the pretest stuff because, and I quote "I want them to have all the "road maps" they can when doing your surgery". When I did the CT Scan on my abdomen and pelvic area there was absolutely no pain and it was in an open environment. The only thing I had trouble with was the oil contrast they have you drink beforehand. My tummy did not like that stuff at all - but keep in mind I hadn't been eating very much due to nerves.
It's best to do all the pre-surgery stuff no matter what! Good luck and remember we are all here for you!
