Why can't we just throw in the towel?

I've been trying to find answers for my problem for years now. Guess what.... yet again another doctor who cannot tell me why I've run fever off and on (every day, just not all day every day) for um lets see ...... ever since my endometrial ablation. Turns out what they thought were fibroids are probably really an infection that is trying to seal itself off - can't do a saline sono because they can't get the catheter in there. Radiologists (multiple) have never seen anything like it. Don't know if I'm bleeding during periods or not because I haven't passed any real amount of anything since December 2007. I've gained about 20 pounds since the ablation. I have a sore on my abdomen that appeared 1 month after surgery. Really huge painful blister about 1 1/2 inches tall --- still hasn't healed completely, starts to heal when I can get someone to give me antibiotics, flares up again when the pain returns. Hurts like heck. This new gyno made me an appt with an infectious diseases doctor and forwarded my records without my consent.

What if I don't want to use this doctor, what if I know this doctor and don't want to be treated by him. WTH. Has anybody heard of HIPPA.

Gyno is ticked off because I've refused a hyst. I'd like to know what's in there first, I'd like to know why its related to the blister on the exterior of my abdomen.

I'm so tired of being in pain and being disregarded as the person who should be in control of my body and records.

DH is being an ***.....if I could lay down and die, I would.

Why can't we just throw in the towel?

I don't have any answers (I usually don't) but I just wanted to say I'm so sorry to hear about all the problems you are having. I too would be so steamed about my records being forwarded without my consent. I didn't think they could do that. I think I would go off on somebody.

I am so sorry for your pains. You have a right to be fired up. But sounds like you need a second opinion. If you don't like the doctor, keep on moving to the next. You know something is wrong and you are the only one that knows your body the best. There will be a doctor out there that will figure this out for you. Hang in there and good luck. All us sisters have the strenght in us to find answers. I know you do to. GOD BLESS

Why can't we just throw in the towel?

Hi Silver Lining-
I don' know what Asherman's Diagnosis is- but I think the only fix for adenomyosis
is a hysterectomy. - I was headed for an ablation and decided to get a 2nd (actually my 3rd opinion) and am so glad I did. When I got to the right doctor it all fell together- and he did enough tests to confirm to BOTH of us that a hysterectomy really was the right thing for me. Good luck!

Why can't we just throw in the towel?

I'm so sorry you've had such a bad ordeal. It also just sounds like a particularly bad day...so sorry....it sucks to fell like that. I have spent the last decade having doctors tell me that I was fine, and they had trained me to try to ignore my problems, until I fought and fought and finally found out now that I was far from fine. Unfortunately, sometimes you really have to push to get people to really listen and try to help. Also unfortunately...I think sometimes Dr's just don't know what's going on inside until they get in there and see it. It's so interesting that with all our technology, many of the problems associated with women we seem to still be in the "dark" (yeah like dark ages) about.

For me, it helped to find a woman doctor. I know there a male drs our there who are great.....but I just felt like I needed someone who had first hand experience having an ovary, uterus, period, etc. in order to understand and try to help me. I'm a firm believer in finding a DR that you like, and trust, and that your gut instinct tells you is "the one for you" women have intuition, but we are trained from birth to ignore it....NOW is the time to only care about what you want and what makes you feel comfortable so that you can get your life back.

I promise you....I've had the "lay down and die" wishes with my problems lately also.....but....if and when you finally get some answers and better yet GET IT FIXED...you will be so thankful that you followed your instincts and that you can feel better.

Blessings

I am sorry you are having these ongoing problems.
I agree that it is important to find what is causing this sore on the abdomen before having any kind of surgery. I hope this doctor who deals with infections will be able to get this cleared up for you.

Please hang in there

Why can't we just throw in the towel?

Oh my gosh, I've had MRIs CT scans, x-rays, sonograms everything they could make money off of. I've about decided that they are going to try to let my uterus rot out if I don't agree to a hyst. I want to know what they screwed up when they did the ablation before I'll even think about something as invasive as a hyst. I'm ready to go to another city all together.

I'm having pain so bad lately that I'm nauseated, vomit when I eat about 1/3rd of the time, I'm dizzy and feel like I'm about to lose consciousness. The GYN won't continue me on the antibiotics (I've only had one round and they helped immensely) because she's "not comfortable" with that treatment approach but she's ready to take a knife to me. I can't even get any pain killers. I don't know if I can make it until I see the new doc on the 7th.l

The nurse told me I couldn't have an infection because my WBC is normal --- (I told her that I'd read that it can normalize when you have a chronic infection) She didn't know that. Where'd she go to nursing school? If I don't have an infection why do I have a freaking fever??????

Oh guys, please send some prayers and good vibes my way, I'm scared to death they are gonna let me die.

Thanks for your responses, they help alot.
