Wait time for hysterectomy

I am waiting for the surgery scheduler to give me a call to schedule my vaginal hysterecomy because of Complex Endometrial Hyperplasia without atypia. I am thinking of waiting till December due my sick leave not being enough to cover my possible healing time. What is the normal wait time for a TVH? I have waited years I think I can wait 3 more months.

Well, I can tell you my experience.

I am scheduled for October 20th which was scheduled yesterday. So 6 weeks for me.

I don't know what condition you described, so if it is more serious I'd think they could get you in sooner.

The wait often depends on your doctor, your diagnosis, and who needs to be available to assist. Many doctors only do surgeries on certain days at certain facilities so it just depends on how many other surgeries are already scheduled. If your diagnosis is such as surgery needs to be done ASAP, then sometimes the doctor is able to get you in quicker.

I could have scheduled my surgery within a couple days of knowing I needed it done but I chose to put it off a couple weeks so my mom would have time to make travel arrangements.

If you have not had a second opinion yet, now is a good time to have that done while you are waiting to be scheduled!
