You can Google Novasure problems and a ton of stuff comes up. My "honey" questioned my doctor in the PreOp area and she quickly skirted around his question and he's an attorney and wants to sue. I've been going to her for years and I'm really upset by her response when I question her now. She tells me I" shouldn't be upset for having done the Novasure, this is the first case in the entire office of 7 doctors that has gone wrong in over 6 years". I find that difficult to believe. But who knows! I hope all goes well for you. This site was a blessing for me. I found out on a Friday afternoon that I was having surgery on a Monday morning. I couldn't have made it thru without the hints I found here.
Your husband should look for Post-ablation-tubal sterilization syndrome as there is plenty of references to it on the internet.

I am the only woman in my immediate family...husband and 2 teenage sons so I am sure they will treat me like a princess...

I am going in with keeping my ovaries however if they are with alot of scar tissue she will remove them.

Thanks for the info! I can't wait to share this with him. He is really wanting me to sue but I'm just not that type of person. I believe mistakes happen.

I too have two sons or I should say grown men. My doc removed scar tissue and two large cysts off my right ovary so I could keep both ovaries. She said it's just best at my age of 46. I feel really good today at 5 weeks, 4 days post op and have been on the road traveling all week. I just went 2 days without spotting and am so happy! I thought I was going to have to invest in a panty shield company. With the ablation and then the hysterectomy. Good grief!

Take the next few days to rest up!

Glad to hear things are looking up and yes, keeping the ovaries are the best thing to do, unless indicated otherwise.

As for suing not sure it the right thing to do unless it means more research is done on ablations. Its really is amazing how little research is done on the results given how common this 'little' operation is. I did read in one article given the rate of failure observed after 5 yrs it would logically mean that after 13 yrs, all women who had ablations would have hysterectomies. However, as my husband would say, statistic can be skewed to go where you want them to go.

I guess I lucked out and had a well-informed doctor who steered me clear of ablation. He said if both your fallopian tubes are not intact and open, ablation can cause severe pain. He was also aware that it should not be used if adenomyosis is suspected.

It's too bad there aren't more doctors out there who are aware of the contraindications for this procedure. It could save so many women a lot of pain.
