How is HRT effected with colds?

Just saw a post about the flu shot and I'm just recovering from the flu that got my whole family sick. I'm wondering how my Vivielle Dot works in relation to when I'm sick? Any ideas? Does it suck more estrogen out of the patch or less? I've felt awful the past week which is mostly attributed to the flu (and also being 3 weeks post up from having my last ovary removed) and noticed I've been very feverish or maybe it's more hot flashes. Thanks! Keep your Purell out ladies!!!

Re: How is HRT effected with colds?

Our bodies tend to need more estrogen when we are under any kind of stress, and that includes physical illness. So, it's possible that you are not getting enough estrogen from your current dose while you're sick.

Hopefully you're on the mend now, though, so you can just ride it out and not have to deal with trying to raise your estrogen level.
