Sleeping & Dreams - 4weeks post op

Is anyone having trouble sleeping and/or crazy dreams when finally asleep? I have dreamed everyone of my fears.....falling, intruders, child death, murder, car accidents, mother-in-law visits!!!! What gives!

Re: Sleeping & Dreams - 4weeks post op

Hi NaturalNunny,
I am also 4 weeks post surgery and I have trouble sleeping. I too dream about weird things but not nightmares. My big problem is that I wake up during the night (to go to the bathroom) or very early in the morning and have trouble falling asleep after that. I am not taking any pain meds and also kept my ovaries, so I am hoping this is not due to menopause symptoms.
Does anyone else have trouble sleeping and will this resolve with time? I am afraid that in two weeks I will have to go back to work and with all stress there and without sleep will be a real nightmare.

Hi ladies -

Are you still on the big pain meds? If you are sometimes those can cause nightmares?

I had mine before surgery but not after but wasn't on the meds that long.

Hugs.

Re: Sleeping & Dreams - 4weeks post op

I am 6 weeks post-op. I had the most bizarre dreams for the first few weeks! I told my husband that if I could put a video recorder in my brain I could make a million dollars selling freaky movies! I have heard that these come from the anesthesia in our system.

I don't have those anymore but I do find it very hard to go back to sleep if I wake up in the middle of the night.

This has to pass sooooooon, right?

Best wishes. Sweet dreams!*pig*

I am also having dreams that I have to wonder "what is wrong with me" A couple of them have left me thinking about what I dreamed all day. Creepy, freaky dreams. I hope things go back to normal soon.
