Finally

Yes, I'm new here. I liked the idea of having more than one opinon and experience to read.

I've tried everything to control my periods... bc pills helped slow it down to 10-12 days, heavy bleeding for 7. When my blood pressure didn't agree with the pills, I went off of them.
Then I had the pleasure of bleeding 24/7.

Last year I tried an ablation, my periods were lighter for a month or two and then started getting heavier and heavier.

Finally I told my doctor "I give up, time to remove the offending organ". He agreed, knowing that I'd done all I could do at that point.

I laughed when I read on a mayo clinic website that soaking through a tampon every hour for a few hours was grounds to go to the ER... *laughs* ... if I had done that, I'd have spent a few days there every month for the past 25 years.

Glad you gals are here, I'm not so alone this way.
