Adenomyosis and bowel issues

I have had every test I can think of trying to figure out my bowel issues ( most things go right through me and I have stomach pain alot) I had a lapro done in Sept and found out that I have a enlarged uterus, Aden. and Endem. I am having a Hyster. in Dec. So does anyone know if all this is connected and if the bowel issues will go away after the hyste.? By the way the endem was very bad but my uterus was very large.

Re: Adenomyosis and bowel issues

Hi stjemmes,
I am sorry to hear that you are having these problems! I too have had lots of issues with not being able to have a bm, all my life. The enlarged uterus can press on the digestive track and make things difficult to pass through.
Although, I did not have endo, I did have adeno.
Hopefully, other ladies will be along soon to advise on the endo aspect.

Wishing you the best!
Big Hugs,
Carol

Re: Adenomyosis and bowel issues

All of our bodies are different so it is really hard to say how you will be post op. I know for me, my doctors and I discussed that maybe I had Irritable bowel syndrome. But, since my LAVH, the issue is gone. I had adenomyosis which was a surprise to my ob/gyn. Of course, I only had my hyster 10/20 and it is possible that the other issues will come back, but I think most of my bowel issues were due to my enlarged uterus. It took a while for me to awaken down there, but things are just fine.
Best wishes to you!
