Very bad headache...3 days post op

Ok so I'm 3 days post op and woke to one of the worst headaches I've ever had. It hurts around my eyes and my forehead! I'm on pain meds and ibuprofen and even those arent helping. So now i have all these scary thoughts. ... Blood clots..., ovary not working.... Etc. One thing I have noticed is I sleep in two hour increments... I keep waking up so maybe it's a lack of sleep headache. I'm really nervous that it means something bad. One more thing... Puffy face around the eyes.

I too had an awful headache in the middle of the night. I NEVER and I mean never get headaches. I rubbed peppermint oil on my temples and head. That didnt work . Finally took ibuprophan and put a cold wash cloth over my eyes and forhead, that helped a little. DH talked me into taking a vicodine..off to sleep I went and woke up feeling great. Maybe one of those can help you? You can put cucumber slices on your eyes for the puffiness also

I had a severe headache for two evenings about a week post-op, couldn't believe it with all the meds I was still on. It did resolve after that, wonder if it due to inactivity. Did you have a spinal or general anaesthetic? Mine was a spinal, not sure if that had anything to do with it!

I too had really bad headaches for the first week. It started the night after my surgery. I asked the nurse if I could have something for it. I attributed it to lack of sleep, no caffeine, the herniated disks in my neck, hormones or the percocet. I could never actually put my finger on it?

I am sleeping better and am now able to roll onto my side. For the past two days no headaches. I am hoping I am past it. I will ask the doctor about it at my post op on Tues.

If you are concerned it does not hurt just to call the doctor and see what they say, if nothing else just to put your mind at ease.
