Mood Swings

I had my TLH three months ago and the continued mood swings each month are almost more unbearable than before my surgery. I kept my ovaries so I knew I'd go through alot of the same PMS symptoms as if I still had my period but I almost become an evil person! It's awful! Has anyone else experienced this? I already take Zoloft and take a little bit higher dose at these times but it doesn't help.

Re: Mood Swings

Penny,
Unfortunately, a hysterectomy is not a cure for PMS. If you're still having PMS like symptoms, your ovaries are probably working. If the mood swings are unbearable, do talk with your doctor.

Re: Mood Swings

I've been on Lexapro for several years now and that helped my mood swings. I had my ovaries removed with this surgery and I'm even calmer now.
