Some advice for those scheduled for a LAVH

If you are scheduled for a LAVH, don’t forget to be prepared mentally just incase they need to go in abdominally. It happened to me. I knew it could happen, but had not really thought about it or prepared for it. I do wish I had been more prepared mentally. Also I had read some wonderful advice here. With my experience, I truly appreciated my OWN pillow, and the radio with headset. I am not a huge radio person, but I had it on so quietly it did a fantastic job of tuning out all of those hospital noises.

Some advice for those scheduled for a LAVH

Teresa, this is good advice -- I'm scheduled for LAVH but who knows?

So how did you prepare mentally, if you don't mind my asking? What would have helped you if you'd done it before surgery?

Thanks!

Melissa

Hi Melissa

I am a real reader. I read and read and read everything I could so I knew what to expect. I should have read about the other posibilities too. I was also not prepared for the need of hormones, now I am suddenly faced with that too. I will start reading the Sisters advice on that right now.
