TVH: Diet prior to surgery???

Hi everyone,

I have been looking into pre-op diets, I am two weeks from surgery and want to do everything I can to make sure it goes well and I heal quickly.

Any thoughts on what to eat as surgery gets closer. Are particular supplements helpful?

As for supplements you need to ask your doctor. Many times supplements may contain ingredients that are on the "no go" list prior to surgery. I took the route of appox 3 days prior to my surgery of a relatively clean, easy to digest diet and colace (stool softeners) to make sure everything was working ok and I didnt get backed up prior to surgery and then have an OMG bowel movement after. I am not post op 9 days, and have still continued the same clean diet and stool softeners and will do so until I feel like I've made it to a safe zone after my 6 weeks.
