Bleeding and cramping 6 weeks after partial laproscopic hysterectomy

I am 33 y/o 6 wk post op after a partial laproscopic hysterectomy -- ovaries and cervix left behind, uterus and tubes removed. Surgery was performed afer constant pelvic pain and dysfunctional uterine bleeding that started after a difficult delivery of my second child. (Baby was almost 10 pounds, and ob left retained placenta behind that had to be removed 8 weeks post partum). Pathology confirmed adenomyosis. I also had TVT (mesh) placed to remedy urinary incontinence issues.

Recovery was uneventful until this week. Bleeding started slowly a few days ago and is now much heavier. Bleeding is bright red with some clots. I also have some sharp pelvic cramping. OB confirmed that the bleeding was from my cervix and wants to wait a few months to see if this is due to normal homonal cycles.

Experiencing other issues related to the TVT...but that's for another post. Any suggestions/thoughts?

Re: 6 week--post-op after partial laproscopic hysterectomy/cramping

I understand from other posts that keeping the cervix and ovaries an result in period like bouts of bleeding. I would say that if the bleeding last more than 7 days a month that you would want to address that with the OB about regulating it.

Good Luck and let us know!
