1st checkup

I am going in tomorrow for my first follow-up check up. Can anyone tell me what to expect? Will my Dr do a pelvic exam? If so how unconfortable will that be? I am 16 days post op. Also when can I soak in a warm bath?

1st checkup

Hi there !

I had my first follow-up exam at a day shy of 3 weeks post op from my TAH/Burch.

I did have an internal exam which was no worse than an annual exam. My Dr. was very gentle. He just did the internal, checked my incision, and said all was healing well !!

Keep us posted on your visist

1st checkup

Hi Mel,

I'm not sure if your Dr. will do an internal exam or not. It seems that a lot of the ladies report that their Dr. just checks their incision this early post-op.

In my case, my Dr. did an internal at 10 days post-op to check on a discharge that I developed. I was really scared, but he was very gentle and I can honestly say it didn't hurt at all.

Best wishes and s

1st checkup

I had my first post-op checkup yesterday at 11 days post-op. My gyn. did not do an internal, just checked the incisions (I had an LAVH, LSO), showed me the pathology reports (nothing cancerous or pre-cancerous!! Thank God!!) and answered a few questions I had. I will have an internal exam at my six-week checkup. Hope this helps.
