Question - Return of Endo with a side of Complex Cysts!! Return of Endo with a side of Complex Cysts!!

I had my Hysterectomy on February 21, 2011, after being diagnosed with adeno. During my surgery, they found severe endo and adhesions. I was put on Lupron shortly after my surgery for 7 months. I got through all the side effects of Lupron and was feeling pain free and normal once again.

About 3 weeks ago, I started having intense right ovary pain. I went in to my OB they said it was due to the return of the endo. I was put on painkillers and Lupron. I asked if they were sure it was the endo because the pain was the worst pain I have ever felt. They assured me it was. 3 days later, the pain was so bad I went to the ER. After an Ultrasound they found a large complex cyst on my right ovary and a small one on my left. I was prescribed stronger pain meds and sent back to my OB/GYN. MY OB says there is nothing they can do except keep the pain under control. The Lupron will allow my ovaries to heal.

I am wondering if anyone has suffered through this and when will I feel better? I don't know if I should seek out a second opinion or wait it out a little longer.

It is so frustrating after everything to feel this crappy again!

Thanks Raela

(((Raela)))

I know it can be frustrating to deal with pain following a hysterectomy.

There have been times when I have dealt with cysts following my own hysterectomy. Each time, the cysts did eventually dissolve on their own, including a complex cyst, but it can take time. Some took a few weeks.

If there is also endometriosis in the area, it can make things more painful.

Take the meds your doctor has prescribed and if you see no change, let him know. You might also try a heating pad. Don't hesitate to touch base with your GP if you need additional help.

in there!
