Had uterus removed 2 years ago when I had my surgery 04/10 they left both my ovaries now I'm having tons of cramping, breast pain & other menstrual systems ALL the time! Feel pain & pressure like I'm having a baby. Or like that feeling right before you start, & breast tenderness. Has anyone heard of this? Doctor says ovaries may have to be removed. Frustrated
Do you have both ovaries? Have you talked to your doctor about your symptoms? Have you ever been diagnosed with ovarian cysts? I had them on both ovaries and they caused very painful cramps between periods.
Now that is crazy because I wish I had left my ovaries! Please get to a good bHRT specialist/endocrinologist or someone who will blood test your hormone levels and help you adjust them as needed. I know it feels incredibly frustrating right now, rightfully so - but your body may just need the slightest bit of tweaking here and there to keep you vibrant and healthy as naturally and safely as possible.
Have you had a second opinion yet? I would hesitate to rush into OR for an oophorectomy unless you have a definite diagnosis that dictates the removal of your ovaries. There are a variety of options for helping with your symptoms that you might want to consider first.
Also, the cramping could involve your cervix so you could still have issues if your ovaries are removed.
Have you and your doctor ruled out all other medical conditions that might be affecting or contributing to your symptoms? What was the reason for your hysterectomy?
Having no ovaries can open the door to a lot of new health concerns and finding the right HRT is not always easy. Women even have issues with bio-identicals. And while a steady dose of hormones sounds nice, that doesn't always work for all women either as life tends to throw us curve balls that can use up the hormones quicker at times, and without ovaries the body can't easily make a bit more to make up the difference.
To help you and your doctor determine what exactly is going on and what the best option(s) for you might be, I would strongly suggest you keep a detailed symptom diary. Touching base with your GP could also be very helpful and that doctor could also refer you to additional specialists.
