Hello all from new member

Dr. recommend this site for all my questions and research before I make my final decision on which surgery to go with. Leaning toward the LSH - Laparoscopic Super Cervical Hyst. instead of the TLH, only concern is that my Fathers mom had some kind of "female cancer" as he says. Also I have a half sister from my fathers first marriage, that had cervical cancer. Dr. does not seem to be worried about any of this - seems odd? Is cancer only hereditary from the mothers side? I am also nervous about collapsing bladder or vaginal walls. I keep telling myself " at least you have a choice at this time and the only thing wrong is fibroids and the horrible periods - there are many women on this site with bigger problems."

Re: Hello all from new member

I'm glad you joined and hope that you will enjoy being a part of this amazing group.

If your decision is made to have a hysterectomy and you're just debating which type to have, you can post over on the Pre-Op Hysterectomy Support message board. There's good information to help you in the Pre-Op Page, too.

I'm sending all best wishes!
