Night Sweats stopped after Atkins

Sorry if this is the wrong place to post, but I haven't been on here since early 2009 or so. I just wanted to throw something out there that might help someone else.

I'm in my early 40s, and have been having night sweats for about three years or so. They're not related to my hysterectomy, because I still have my overies. I don't get hot flashes in the day, but often I'd wake up hot and drenched in sweat at night. Well, I started on Atkins about three weeks ago (Induction Phase), and it dawned on me today that I haven't had a night sweat since starting the diet. Seriously, I was having night sweats two or three times a week, up until three weeks ago, and haven't had a single one in three weeks. Has anyone else noticed a change like this from a low carb diet? Or from just cutting back on sugar?

Night sweats (and/or hot flashes) can occur from low blood sugar. Possibly all the carbs you were consuming was allowing to much fluctuation in your blood sugar and causing hypoglycemia during the night.

Have you talked to your doctor about the night sweats and your diet?

I don't trust my family doctor to talk about nutrition after she said one reason my vitamin D was low was because I wasn't drinking enough milk. I get the feeling she didn't realize milk is fortified with Vitamin D, it doesn't come with it naturally.
