need some positive feedback

my GP ordered lots of tests before she will give me surgical clearance - having pulmonary tomorrow and waiting to hear from cardiac for the stress test. I got my lab work back today and several markers point to diabetic kidney disease. I'm feeling very overwhelmed, as can be expected, and not knowing how this figures in to everything is getting to me.

I know kidney disease is very serious in and of itself, but will it preclude the ability to withstand this surgery

I think it depends on the severity of the disease and how all your other tests come out. It may just be they need to adjust your fluids or meds or that type thing, when they do surgery. I hope nothing delays you and the results of the tests are OK.

Frpm what little I know about that condition I know it is very treatable. Once they get you on the right combo of medications you should cleared for surgery and you will feel sooo much better. Sending (((hugs))) and prayers!

As hard as it is try not to get too far ahead. Consider this the info gathering stage necessary for surgical go ahead. It sounds like your doctor is being careful. I completely understand how overwhelming it is. It is all so much to digest. Maybe making a great list of questions will help you prepare.

Thank you lovely. I do appreciate that she is checking everything out well. I have had diabetes for a long time, so testing is in order. I will start a list of things to ask - certainly didn't expect to have this much of a barrier to clearance
