MS & hysterectomy; Update--no hysterectomy!

Hi Ladies! I am seeing my doctor tomorrow to discuss a hysterectomy. I've had endometrial ablation surgery about 2 yrs. ago and now I am getting periods again. The problem isn't the periods it's the PMS. It's so severe that every time I get it it's like the MS and PMS are fighting each other. My periods are very light now but about a week before I get it the pms starts and I am in bed for about 1-1.5 weeks. I get very severe full body tremors, all over body pain, headaches, depression, weepiness, mood swings, etc... . I was okay with it being only once a month but now once my period ends the pms starts all over again & I get my period after about a week & a half. I'm to the point where I want to give up. I don't know what else to do except get a hysterectomy and start bio-identical HRP. Anyone with MS go through a similar situation? I will be 50 in May and I'm losin' it. I feel like this is my last resort. Any advice, similar experiences, etc... would be greatly appreciated. I also forgot to add that the period I had last week was excruciatingly painful. My right ovary was cramping then it stopped and my left one was cramping all day. Now I am pms-ing again and have cramps, which I never really had too severely after I had my IUD removed years ago.

Re: MS & hysterectomy

Dkrtist - I am so sorry to read about the impact that MS and PMS are having on you. I don't have any personal experience to share, but wanted to suggest that you do a search on this site. There are many other ladies who have posted over the years.

If you look on the dark purple menu bar, you will see the "Search" function.
Click "Advanced Search".
In the upper left corner, enter Multiple Sclerosis (MS won't give any results, I just checked that)
Right underneath the key word field, click "Search Titles Only"
Click "Search Now" at the bottom.

Sorry it took abit for you to get a response. Even if there aren't any of us currently on here who can offer suggestions regarding the MS component of your symptoms, we can still listen and empathize.

Thanks so much. I appreciate it. I just started bio-identical Estriol today & already feel a big relief.

Re: MS & hysterectomy

Hi (((Dkrtish)))
My heart goes out to you for all you've been going through. I just saw your post but wanted to reply to say hi and wish you well as well as to see how you are doing.

I have MS, went through surgery and all and have come out doing great. I can't say that I had experienced of the severe symptoms you had though. I also had an ablation done, with was unsuccessful for me in the end. My periods came back with a vengeance and of course I ended up with the hysterectomy.

There are always ladies who come by who have MS and are looking for answers about how we have done and all. I'm wondering if your doctors have been able to help you distinguish what symptoms might be MS related and which ones might be after effects of the ablation? I know all kinds of situations can take place to cause pain and bleeding and negative reactions from our bodies.

I would like to encourage you to add to your post as you find answers. I know others who come after will greatly appreciate anything you might want to share. We would also love to be of any help that we can. I'm thrilled to see that the hormones have helped some. I look forward to hearing how you're doing and if you have made any decisions about if you will have the hysterectomy or not.

I'm sending my best wishes for you. I hope you are feeling better even now.
Rita

Re: MS & hysterectomy

Pearl, thanks so much for your response & best wishes. I went to the doctor Tuesday and got a prescription. I took a pill as soon as I got them. About 20-30 minutes later the difference was phenomenal. One little pill was all it took. I haven't felt this fantastic in the last four years. So much energy and always smiling now. If there are any other women on Hyster Sisters who have MS and would like to know what I researched and finally found that really WORKS. I don't want to see people suffer needlessly when there is something that actually works and is in tune with your body. So, no hysterectomy, feeling awesome and couldn't be more thrilled! I wish all my Hyster Sisters the best in their quest for good health.
Love & peace
