My amazing bed may be a BIG problem!

Hello there. Well its only one and a bit weeks to go now and last night was my first nervy night where I really couldn't think of anything else and lost nearly a full nights sleep! 3am and im sifting thru all your wonderful posts instead of snoring with my hubby! (Not that I snore mind you, I leave that to him )
Anyway one thing I started worrying about was our bed. It is the most amazing memory foam bed and has been the best thing we have ever brought BUT...Im pretty sure its going to be very hard to get out off as it contours to your body and has no roll. Has anyone else got this type of bed? And if so did you find it hard to get in and out of post op? Its fairly hard to get out of as it is! If so any tips on what to do
Lots of thoughts ticking over in my little head, big butterfly's in my tummy but still really looking forward to the new me
Thanks for listening

Re: My amazing bed may be a BIG problem!

My surgery isnt scheduled yet, but I have that bed also. ANd I know I will not be able to get in and out of it. So we bought a recliner and placed it in our bedroom, and that is where I will be spending my time. Plus I hear the cliner is better anyway in the beginning. Its easier to get your legs up and comfortable, and also everyone is telling me I'm not going to want to lay flat in a bed anyway because it will pull to much. Good luck

Re: My amazing bed may be a BIG problem!

Thanks for your reply Dwadeb1990. I have been testing the bed out the last few days. Seeing if I can get in and out with little use of my stomach muscles and not once have I been able to. So I think my comfy couch might be my new bed when I get home.
All the best for the 1st of June. Enjoy your recliner

Re: My amazing bed may be a BIG problem!

I have a temperpedic bed and I did not have one single problem (10+ weeks from my surgery). I had my tummy pillow, rolled over onto my side and pushed up from there with my hands. Hope that helps.

Re: My amazing bed may be a BIG problem!

Thanks heaps for that. Guess I have to get my A into G and go get me a tummy pillow which had completely slipt my mind! I really hope this helps as I would love to sleep in bed.
Thanks again Lizardbrain

Re: My amazing bed may be a BIG problem!

You don't need a special pillow (at least I didn't). I just used a regular pillow & carried it with me everywhere.

Good luck to you. I hope your recovery is an easy one

Re: My amazing bed may be a BIG problem!

I put a wooden dining chair next to my bedside and used it like a bedrail! It's great for grabbing to help roll and sit up.
