Question - Considering a hysterectomy for post ligation ablation syndrome Considering a hysterectomy for post ligation ablation syndrome

Hello all!

I had a tubal ligation in March 2008 and the Novasure procedure in February 2011. Well I have to say the Novasure did nothing to help. My periods are now longer and just as heavy, and I have horrid cramping 2-3 weeks each month....I have never experienced cramps more than 1 or 2 days a month. The cramps are so intense, it makes child birth feel like flying a kite. I went to the ER yesterday with pain radiating down my leg and curling me into a fetal position. After two doses of pain meds, I was finally able to talk and convey what was hurting and how long. I was diagnosed with post ligation post ablation syndrome. The ER doc said the only treatment is a hysterectomy and I have to say, I am ready to just have it over with. I can't deal with the pain anymore.

My biggest concern is my hubby is stationed in Korea and will get at most 14 days of emergency leave. Is it to presumptuous to think that I will be recovered sufficiently to do for myself and my 4 girls after two weeks? We have no family or close friends here and I am worried that I won't be able to care for them. What is a realistic timeframe for recovery?
