Freaking out..Only 4 days post TAH

and think I have a incisional hernia. Im in so much pain already I cant even begain to think there is a chance that I may need surgery again for the hernia. I have a 6 day post op with my doc on Monday and I hope she tells me Im nuts. Everyone Ive showed seems to think its a hernia but none are doc's ugghhhh

My dad has had 2 hernia surgeries and said they were both pretty painless. He mowed the lawn 3 days after his first hernia repair. Hopefully his positive experience will give you a little courage about going in and seeing what your doctor decides.

im just hopping im nuts, its only been four days from my TAH and still am in pain, dont want to add even the slightest more of pain... sorry just freaking out

I had my hyster on the same day as you did so I can relate to how you are feeling. I had hernia surgery a few years back and it was way easier than this. It still takes time to heal but it wasn't nearly this bad....I kind of feel like I have been hit by a truck and I am super tired. Good luck with your recovery.

Mine was a femoral hernia.....just a bump. I actually worried it was a lymph node luckily it wasn't. It never actually bothered me but I needed to know what it was. Take care

Im just so freaked out that i may need surgery again and only 4 days post TAh. Mine is a bulge of about 3 inchs long right above my incision (about an inch away from the cut)

I doubt it would be a hernia. It is more likely to be a haematoma - a pooling if blood from some of the trauma during surgery. I would chill out until you see your doctor - the surgery and anaesthesia mess with your head and make you freak out about everything. My incision opened up a bit after my staples were out and was leaking blood - I was convinced I would end up with a major infection, but nothing happened. I'm sure you will be fine.

What happened to the hematoma??

I dont have staples or stiches that I can see, just strips!!!

It gradually reduced in size. But I do have what I call my pouch above my incision. It looks like a roll of loose skin. I am hoping that it will still improve.
