Swelly belly and pressure

Hi all, I am just now 3 weeks post-op and feeling well. I had a TVH with anterior repair, was released back to work part time of course at 2 weeks. I pretty much sit most of the day but am up and down alot. No lifting or anything. I have been swelling a lot snd feel pressure in tummy area as well as vag area. I feel as if I want a support of dome sort when I'm up and around. Is that normal feeling? I know I'm still healing so trying to take it easy and get off my feet when needed. I have also traded one prolapse for another, unfortunately. Not looking forward to dealing with that now. So much for not having no more bulging. I hope everyone is healing well and taking it easy....

Re: Swelly belly and pressure

allaboutball - swelly belly can indeed stick around for several weeks following surgery. Yes indeed it is annoying! Keep in mind that while you are early in recovery as you are, if you are noticing that some days are worse than others, it is possibly that you are overdoing certain activities which increase the swelling. Here is an Article About Swelly Belly if you'd like to read a little more. In the meantime, try to listen carefully to your body for signs that you need some rest, or need to avoid certain activities. Here is some guidance on what kinds of activities are ok for your stage of recovery.

I hope that helps abit!

I'm also sorry to hear about the difficulties you are experiencing with prolapse.
