Surgery thursday and have a ruptured disc

UGH!! Friday I woke up and ended up at the ER Friday night in pain. Here I have a ruptured disc at the very bottom of my spine and it hurts bad. My surgery is thursday and Im not happy because Im already going to be healing from the hysto and now have this back pain. How am I going to even move? I dont want to postpone my surgery either. Ugh Im a mess

Re: Surgery thursday and have a ruptured disc

You should call your doctor and ask if you'll be ok to have the surgery. I don't know how your going to move post op. Also the doc may not be able to operate, Double check. I had Davinci and they tilt the table so your feet are pointing up and your head is down during surgery . If you have that type of surgery it may not be ok for your back.

Re: Surgery thursday and have a ruptured disc

Definitely talk to your doctor. The surgical position that cathb is referring to is quite common and may be SOP. I had a TAH BSO and was also put in that position. It helps the surgeon see. BUT that may be way too difficult for your back right now.
