Still think I am 'normal'. No temp, no smell.
I am feeling pretty good, still taking it easy.
Anyone else seeing this change?
I had light bleeding and watery discharge during my weeks of recovery too. I swear it was every color of the !! No joking either, it was pink, orange, yellow, even purple toned...and clear and watery at times too...SOOOO weird. You can always mention to your to make sure it's normal for you, but it sounds normal from my experience.

This would also be a good post-op forum question so you can get feedback from other ladies that are further along in recovery.

Almost three weeks post op and I'm doing well. I'm completely off my pain meds, but have a couple left for a bad day. Over the last week I've started doing more as my body seems to be letting me. I've noticed I've been kind of up and down on my emotions. Last week would have been my normal cycle week and the "trauma" of the surgery, I knew to expect it. At week two I started having some pink spotting, but doc said its to be expected, especially since some of the internal stitches were disolving themselves out at the same time. I still catch myself getting tired more easily, but its getting better.

Hugs to all my sisters

Good afternoon sisters. I am just getting up from my daily afternoon nap. Anyone else here notice that they hit a wall at the same time everyday? My collision is usually Around 2 pm everyday. I see that many of you are experiencing spotting, bleeding or some form of discharge. Recall that I had a day or so of bleeding and passing clots this past week. Also, just yesterday I had a yellowish discharge that was very odiferous. It smelled very acidic almost. I have not noticed it today. Anyone else noticed that at all? Could have something to do with the estrogen vaginal cream the dr gave me to speed up vaginal incisions. Hope all is well with my sisters and you are enjoying a great Sunday with friends and family.

I don't usually nap. Some days I have, but if I do, I can't sleep at night. I do feel some tugging in my tummy at times. However, some days I have more energy than others. No discharge yet, but my doc told me last week at my 2 week chkup that I would have a brown discharge this week and that would be my stitches....Told me to walk all I wanted to but no housework or vacuuming. This is a great message board. I really appreciate your comments as to how your healing experiences are going . Thanks and I am praying that all of you continue to heal the right way! Happy Sunday!

Is there a common time for a post op checkup? On leaving the hospital I was given an appointment for 4 weeks.

I went back to work Thurs without being seen by doc for clearance. I was so nervous about it, I called the office to see if there was anything I needed to keep in mind. They seemed very nonchalant and said they'd see me at my 4 week appt.

Maybe it's just me. Just feeling like this major surgery has been minimalized in a major way.

I think that is too soon, from all I have been told and read. I would think you'd need at least 6 weeks, but I'm not a doc. I know I have to take a dr's note when I return to work for insurance purposes as well. Maybe it depends too on your situation. I would be interested in hearing what the other sisters say. I wish you well, and please be careful!

Birchtree, I saw my dr for a postoperative appt about a week after sugery. I see him again on June 14. He insisted I stay home for 5 weeks. That was determined before the surgery. I teach, so I think he was mostly trying to get me to the end of the school year...which I'm grateful for. I have to go back for one teacher workday then I'm off for summer. I'm not sure I have the energy to go back to work yet so I'm thankful for the extra time off. If you're feeling like its too much perhaps your dr would consider extending your medical leave. Keep us updated and take care not to overdo.

Hi birchtree...Each doctor is different as far as check ups. I personally had my check ups at weeks 2 and 6. Ended up going into the at weeks 8 and 10 too. I think 3 weeks post hyster is VERY early to be back to work. I've read that some sisters are ready to go back at that time, but I know I was no where near ready at the 3 week mark. Please listen to your body...be proactive and demand to see the doctor if you have concerns or questions. They're there to help you.

This is a major surgery, and don't let anyone tell you differently!!!

Please keep us posted.
