Re: In so much pain...please help.

So sorry to hear that you are in such pain.
I was started on Narcotics about a week or so, before my surgery.
I was SO uncomfortable.
I called the Dr's office, and I couldn't help but cry and I told the nurse that I was in so much pain and didn't know what to do.

Better days are ahead, my dear sister.
I promise.

Re: In so much pain...please help.

Definitely talk to your doctor about what you can safely take for pain between now and your surgery.

If you need a longer hospital stay, the doctor can call the insurance company and get it extended. But that decision will be made post-surgery depending on how you are doing.

I swear it feels like my uterus is pushing everything out the way and expanding by the minute...god forbid if i have to bend down for something

I wish you luck also

The walking is unbearable at times

I was told that I have to stop taking the Naproxen 10 days before the surgery (oh the pain), and Tylenol and Ibuprofen do nothing for me either. I can actually say I got some rest today..kids went to their Grandmothers for a slumber party..and I could actually just rest and sleep. It felt good, but then I had to get up and the pain kicked in as soon as my foot hit the floor

I'll be calling to find out what I can do, this is making me miserable.

Re: In so much pain...please help.

Jjay, I'm so sorry you're in pain right now. I'm glad you were able to get your surgery moved up. The pain and exhaustion I had before surgery were 100% gone immediately after surgery. I had my LAVH 3 days ago, and of course there is pain and exhaustion after surgery... but it's not the same as how it felt before, if that makes sense. Also, I was only in the hospital over night and by the time they were doing my discharge paperwork, I was ready to go home.

I hope you can find some relief to get you through the next month and that you have a speedy recovery.

Re: In so much pain...please help.

When I first got the surgery scheduled for July 19th, it was convenient because my kids would be out for the summer and I wouldn't have to worry about how are they going to get to school (their dad starts work very early in the morning 3am), but when the pain hit..and I received the authorization in the mail with the surgery for June 21st...I was relieved they moved it up. Now it's just the point of trying to deal with the pain, and wait til that day comes.

Re: In so much pain...please help.

My belly is bloated, my back hurts into my legs, I feel so much pressure on my pelvic floor. It hurts and burns like fire for some reason. My left leg goes numb at times. Sex really hurts. I tense up now when I even think he has the look in his eyes. I dread sex. I try to fake it and grit my teeth because I know if I yell ouch it'll take longer. I have never hated sex so much in my life as I do now.

Re: In so much pain...please help.

Jjay- Im so sorry you are having so much pain. Please, do call your doctor- there are many options available to help you- even with surgery coming up. Make sure to let them know how long you have been taking the meds that you will need to stop (then they know you've been working on pain control yourself). I was on a few different medications to help with pain pre-op- for the reason I had my hyster & for chronic pelvic nerve pain as well.
Like other sisters have said- please do not worry yourself now with how long before the hospital releases you. If you have the confidence in your doc to do your surgery- have confidence in him/her to be sure you wont be sent home until he/she & the nurses know you will be ok. There really is a wide range of how long sisters need to remain at the castle. I had a daTH (cervix removed, my 1 ovary spared) on a wednesday late am & didnt leave the hospital until late on sat eve (timing later sat was to wait for my father to be able to bring me home).
Please DO call & see if your doctor can help you be a bit more comfortable before your surgery. I will be thinking about you & hope you are able to post that you are hurting even a bit less soon. BIG s to you!!!!! Your day will be here soon, we know how hard the waiting can be- we are all here for you!

Lovelyladylumps:

My man doesn't even want to touch me until this is all over and I'm completely healed..I see the hurt in his face because there's nothing he can really do about the pain. I actually feel like I'm 7 months pregnant now..the littlest thing I eat gives me such a bloated feeling. I couldn't even eat dinner tonight because of half a bologna sandwich I ate earlier that day. I felt like i ate a 5 course meal..

Ace37:

Thanks for the hug..I'll be calling Tuesday morning, and if by chance he's not at that office, then I'll be going to see my gynecologist..or bypass it all and go to the emergency room.

I want to thank everyone that has replied to my pain issue and to anyone else who replies does so. It's greatly appreciated and puts my mind at ease.

Re: In so much pain...please help.

Glad to hear you will be contacting your doc. There is not a reason to be suffering so much. Your doc should have some suggestions to help you with this. Sending hugs
