11 days post op - afraid to take glue bandaids off of incisions....

I had my LSH on 5/16....3 incisions, including the belly button. I think it's okay for me to take the glued on bandaids (what they call them, I guess) off. Should I just do it and quit fretting? Does it hurt? Nurse told me I could use Goo-off, if I need to. LOL!

Anyone??

Hi SherryDenice,

Should be fine to take them off by now. My said I could take mine off after a few days. The adhesive can be rather sticky and stubborn. I used hydrogen peroxide and a wash cloth to scrub the sticky off. The Goo-off suggestion is hysterical!!!

I took mine off while I was in the shower. I got them good and soaped up first. I got two of them off by myself nice and slow. The third one was being stubborn so I asked my hubby to help. BIG MISTAKE!!!! He grabbed hold and yanked it off very quickly. I never wanted to slap someone as bad as I wanted to slap him at that moment.lol Ive been waiting to return that favor. LMAO

I'm afraid to remove the band aids too! I keep thinking it will loosen when I shower, but nope, they look as secure as ever. I think i'm going to wait until i see my doc on wed. He'll probably wonder why I haven't removed them. The incision by the belly button and left side still ache, but I've felt nothing by the incision by my pubic area and right side, so i guess i could try to remove those.
